Long time no Speak

Hello i am back i am so sorry it has been so long since i have posted but i just have not had the time with the amount of fab things going on in the shop at the moment.

I have been organising our Celebrity craft weekend which is running from the 24th to the 26th of June. We will be having QVCs Amy Shaw teaching a workshop on the 24th, taking a Demo on the 25th and Debbi Moore doing a Demo on the 26th so lots and lots going on. .

Other exciting news a big congratulations to Rachel  as she passed her driving test 1st time on Tuesday she is now on the road so take this as a warning. Only kidding she is actually a very safe driver.

I used the idea of the staggered squares in the background from one of Debbi's cards. Speaking of Debbi i owe her a big apology i have been spelling her name wrong on everything. Although i now know i how to spell her name I'm not promising that the odd "e" wont appear in blonde moments.

Debbi, Kath and Anne held a fantastic Girls just want to have fun workshop on Saturday and boy it sounded fun. Every now and then we heard roars of laughter coming from the workshop, although anyone who has been to one of Debbi or Kath's classes knows that this is no unusual occurrence. They held an amazing day which was organized brilliantly i cant for them to have another one so i can get to go along.

I think that's all the exciting news for this week, i will leave you with a Tim Holtz inspired card and promise that it wont be so long before my next post.

Cards A Plenty

Quick question am i the only person who looked at the calendar today and thought where has time gone! its the 8th of May already this is something that would never normally bother me as i am one of those scary people who count down the days till i can get christmas stuff sanely into the shop. However today i was worried as it is the Christening of my cousins two adorable baby girls next Sunday and for anyone who hasnt heard yet i am going to be Godmother. Im just the teeniest bit excited to say the least and wanted to make something special for them and promised their mum i would make them a guest book. Well up until 1 hour ago i had nothing, but i always feel i work better under pressure and now it is all done, and ive got to say im really happy with it.

I took the photo ontop of one of the christening shawls my grandma has made for the babies, each shawl has over 500 diamontes on it along with the babies inital, and has lace all the way around. For anyone who hasnt guessed yet my cousin loves diamontes.

All thats left for me to do now is get an outfit.

Photos of the Competition cards

All the cards are now on display in the shop, apologies for them being in groups if anyone wants me to take a photo of a single card on its own so they can see it better i am more than happy to do so.
I would like to finally give a mention to the card above as it was from our youngest competition entree a little girl aged only 4. Its great to see little ones crafting she was given a little prize as you have to admitt her card is very cute.

Picture Perfect

To start i want to say congratulations  to William and Kate, didnt they both look absolutely stunning today. I made this Wedding day card quickly using the cut and emboss broquade window from cuttlebug. I am loving simple cards at the moment, not only do they elegant but they only take a couple of minutes to make, always handy if you need to make a card in a hurry.

As promised here are the photos from the craft night on the 7th of April. What a lovely change to have the sun shining that late at night. For anyone who has never been to a craft night the papeterie run them from 6.30pm to 9.30pm about once every two months. They cost is £10 a ticket, but for that you get to make cards and craft projects at 5 tables, enjoy a buffet and get 10% off of everything on the night.

As you can see it is a great night and a fab chance to meet up with like minded crafty people. Our next one will be held on Thursday 2nd of June from 6.30pm-9.30pm. You would think that having that much time to prepare i would have started prep for my table but in all honesty i will probably start the week before. We all know what it is like its too easy to get distracted playing with crafty goodies.

Better Late than never

Well here it is our first post only about two weeks later than originally planned, but with so much exciting things happening at the Papeterie over the next few weeks i thought i better get started.

For those of you who have not heared we are having a Spring into Summer Designer challenge with a top prize of £100 worth of crafting goodies which closes on Saturday. So it is still not too late to send in your entries, you can enter as many cards as you like the only catch is you need to use something sold at the Papeterie. All the cards will be put up on the blog after the competition closes so that you can see the work of our talented entrees.

Speaking of putting up photos I will pop up some photos of our Craft Night, which was held on the 7th of April over the next few days. For anyone who has not been to one you are missing out they are a fanastic way of meeting lots of new crafty friends and learning new techniques.  I would have popped some up tonight but my dog is not too happy about the computer being centre of attention rather than him.

But at least now i have made a  start to the blog and i will keep updating it, i have a strange feeling that like crafting it may become quite addictive.
