From Melt Pot to Christmas ... all in one weekend!

Well I may have been off for a week, but I did pop along to the shop for Craft Night on Thursday, our first Christmas craft night of the year, we even had the tinsel up!  There was also a good bit of glamour dust  and not always on our cards, right??

Our next Christmas craft night will be on Thursday 19th September and places are filling fast, Christmas is coming!

On Saturday, our very own Kath Stewart taught two workshops using the Melt Pot.  These classes were very busy and we sold out of Melt Pots on the day and more are on order!  If you missed out, Kath will holding a melting pot demo 10 - noon and make and takes 1 - 3 pm on
Saturday 17th August, so why don't you pop along and have a play!

Here's some pictures (courtesy of Kath Stewart) from Saturday morning's workshop.

This is the lovely canvas made in the morning class.

So, if Saturday wasn't busy enough, on Sunday we had a lovely visit from Erika Gunter who was demonstrating Christmas cards with Spellbinders.  It was busy all day, will all seats taken up!

Here are the cards that Erika made.  You may spot some of the lovely Nordic papers in some of her cards, which sold out!

And look at this beautiful box Erika made, it really is gorgeous!

Looking ahead to this week, on Tuesday 30th July, we are running another kids class, I will share photos of what was made later in the week.

This Saturday, 3rd August, our very own Charlotte will be teaching a class from 2 - 4 pm, themed on Vintage Christmas Stamping where 4 cards will be made!

There are still places available, so give us a call on 01224 802337 and book yourself a place!  It's never too early to get started with this year's Christmas cards!

Sue Wilson and Julia Watts Visit - Day Two

It's Sunday and it's day two of our visit from our two special visitors, Sue Wilson and  Julia Watts.
Today saw Julia teaching classes while Sue spent the day demonstrating in our big classroom. Lots of people also returned for day two.  We've had visitors who have traveled from Edinburgh and  from Inverness to join us for a weekend of crafting workshops and free demonstrations.
I was fortunate enough to land myself a place on Julia's class today.  We made a lovely card which had us using lots of techniques and several dies.  We were kept very busy, so we were all very well behaved!!
Here are some photos from the first class.
A bit of inking inside the die

Julia demonstrating one of the flowers from the card,  will be using this technique in the future for definite.

The finished piece of art!

Meanwhile ... in the large classroom ...

... Sue is busy demonstrating lots of techniques,  and there were plenty of samples to inspire!

Speaking of samples ... here are just 'some'…
