Sue Wilson and Julia Watts Visit - Day Two

It's Sunday and it's day two of our visit from our two special visitors, Sue Wilson and

Today saw Julia teaching classes while Sue spent the day demonstrating in our big classroom. Lots of people also returned for day two.  We've had visitors who have traveled from Edinburgh and  from Inverness to join us for a weekend of crafting workshops and free demonstrations.

I was fortunate enough to land myself a place on Julia's class today.  We made a lovely card which had us using lots of techniques and several dies.  We were kept very busy, so we were all very well behaved!!

Here are some photos from the first class.

A bit of inking inside the die

Julia demonstrating one of the flowers from the card,
will be using this technique in the future for definite.

The finished piece of art!

Meanwhile ... in the large classroom ...

... Sue is busy demonstrating lots of techniques,
and there were plenty of samples to inspire!

Speaking of samples ... here are just 'some' of the beautiful
samples brought along with Sue to inspire your creativity!

While all this lovely creativity was going on, one of our regular tutors, Jean Ingram, was working her little socks off selling raffle tickets for two prize draws.  The grand prize draw will take place on August 1st.  The lucky winners will win a place on our craft retreat in September.  Tickets can still be bought by contacting the shop on Tel 802337.  We also had regular draws throughout Saturday and Sunday where winners won cards very kindly made and donated by Julia and Sue.  All donations from raffle sales and tea/coffee will be going towards our chosen charity, Archway.

Here are some of the cards from the raffle.
(I believe we still have some available and there will be more opportunities to win)!

Good morning all at Papeterie,
Sue's card looks wonderful and i think it is amazing that you are doing this to help a charity that if i am not mistaken is that same one as last year. You do not know just how much these charities need help to continue to support the special people that need their help. My son is Autistic and used to go up until last summer to a charity that did things with children of all sorts of special needs and they relied on people such as yourselves to give them that much needed help as well as the volunteers that helped out with the children through out the year. From me the mother of a child helped in such away that it gave me much needed respite for 3 hours each week i cannot thank you enough for your kindness as i am sure that Archway are for your support of them.

Hello Julia,
As you can see I'm late in finding this blog but I have to say that the samples are beautiful (wouldn't expect anything else) and I envy the people who managed to attend the workshops.
As Norah says this is a wonderful charity and it does amazing work with a little boy of a friend of mine. He is only 3 and my friend does not get much respite.
Hope your road trip is not too tiring but a load of fun.
